Department of Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering, the oldest branch of engineering, has evolved since the stone age of civilization. The American Society of Civil Engineering defines it as a profession that applies knowledge of mathematical and physical sciences, acquired through study and practice, to develop economical ways to utilize natural materials and forces for the continual improvement of humanity's welfare.

Traditionally, Civil Engineering has played an important role in improving the civic life of society by harmonizing the natural resources available on the Earth. Some of the major areas in the field of Civil Engineering are Design and Construction of various structures like Bridges, Buildings, Roads, Tunnels, Dams, Developing New Construction Technologies, Design and Development of Foundation Systems, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Municipal and Sanitary Services, Surveying, GIS and Remote Sensing, Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering etc.

Vision

Empowering future generations to shape sustainable environment and resilient infrastructure through innovative education, research, and community engagement, the Civil Engineering Department at AKS University envisions to become a beacon of excellence in advancing societal well-being and environmental stewardship

Mission

Fostering a culture of academic excellence, professional integrity, and ethical leadership, the Civil Engineering Department at AKS University is dedicated to equip students with practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and research acumen to tackle global challenges in infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and societal resilience.
