The Faculty of Engineering & Technology at AKS University, Satna has been successful in establishing itself in this part of India as a leading research and academic group, even though it represents a relatively young academic discipline. This is confirmed by the regular interaction with the industry, academia and research establishments. In the field of all engineering disciplines, our group is closely associated with, in areas related to our core competence

We are also pleased to report that intake into our various B.Tech and Diploma level programs, has students from all over the country. Commencing the courses in 2012-13, today we have completed four successful academic sessions, with our students marching towards their 8th semester at the end of June 2016.The second batch of Diploma students are going to pass out at the end of June 2016.

Faculty of Engineering and Technology has disciplines comprising various branches like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Cement Technology, Food Technology, and Agriculture Engg. Computer Science & Mining engineering which is primarily statutory and applied in nature draws strength from core branches and support from IT, Environmental Sciences etc.


Civil Engineering


Civil engineering is the oldest branch of engineering which is growing right from the stone age of civilization. American society of civil engineering defines civil engineering as the profession in which a knowledge of the mathematical and physical sciences gained by study, experience and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to utilize economically the materials and forces of nature for the progressive well being of man.


Traditionally Civil Engineering has played an important role in improving the civic life of society by harmonizing the natural resources available on earth. Some of the major areas in the field of Civil Engineering are design and construction of various structures like bridges, buildings, roads, tunnels and dams, developing new construction technologies, Design and development of Foundation systems, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Municipal and Sanitary services, surveying, GIS and remote sensing, and Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering.

The Department offers a three-year course leading to the Diploma in Civil Engineering, four-year course leading to the B.Tech in Civil Engineering and two-year courses leading to Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering. The Department is known for its reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. It has built up a wide research potential. The laboratories are equipped with advanced equipment and provide all the facilities for advanced research in the field of civil engineering.



The Department of Civil Engineering puts in its best efforts to create outstanding engineers“ with advanced teaching techniques and learning aids for students and state of the art research facilities for our students. Students are not only made experts in technical aspects but also in interpersonal skills, a vital ingredient to excel in the fast-paced world.

The department has some important instruments in various laboratories such as; Total Station, GPS instrument, Auto Level, Direct Shear Test Apparatus, Compression Testing Machine, CBR Testing Machine, Bitumen Extractor etc. The department is also equipped with various computer software used in civil engineering such as AUTOCAD, Staad PRO etc. and students are trained in these software.

RACE (Recent Advances in Civil Engineering),

this flagship annual technical seminar organized by the department has been a success. Its first event was launched in 2015. The theme of the RACE 2015 (25th September to 26th September) was various advance technologies and researches in civil engineering where over around 200 delegates attended

The AKS University is the first University in the county to introduce B.Tech. in Cement Technology to fulfil the requirements of the cement and construction sectors. The course content is designed with consultation of a gamut of experts from the R&D institution, technocrat and academicians. As per the present day technological advancement, the requirement of the Indian Cement Industry has been taken care of. To fulfil the need of supervisory level in the cement industry the University is also offering 3 years Diploma in Cement Technology.

The key feature of the B.Tech. Cement Technology course structure, the simulator-based training is the part of the curriculum besides the rigorous industrial in-plant training. The syllabus is incorporated the present day frontline areas of the cement manufacturing process technology such as use of Alternate Fuel and Raw Materials (AFR) including low grade limestone, Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) in Cement Manufacturing Process, Energy efficiency in Cement Manufacture, Manufacturing of Low carbon Cements & Geoplymeric Cement, Design of Green Cement Plant, etc.

The department is closely associated with Cement Manufacturer Association of India (CMA) and National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) on various activities.


With association of the cement plant, the department is organizing training for the unskilled worker on Portland Cement Manufacturing Technology as a step towards the Skill India mission of Govt. of India.

Electrical engineering department was established in the year 2012. Since the inception, it is consistently creating its place of excellence not only within the institute but among its counterparts in the country and abroad. Bright students from all the parts of the country for quality education in Electrical engineering and engineering at undergraduate and post graduate are attracted. The inception of department of Food Technology under the faculty of agriculture science and technology was in the year of 2014, month of July. The object of inception was to build the strong, skilled and technical human resource for the Food Processing Industries of India and overseas countries. The basic structure of course is to acknowledge the students on various aspect of food machinery development, food product development, food process development, food quality and safety operations. All the above stated technical efforts are being performed by the industries to manufacture the healthy and nutritive food products in commercial scale. The massive production and supply of food in our planet to feed the around 7 Billion of human population during peak season and far away distances is the prime objective of food industries. Technological intervention is must to develop the systems to process more and more effectively.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and is called an evergreen branch because of the steady demand of mechanical engineers from the industries.

Almost all the inventions of ancient period and modern era are direct contribution of Mechanical Engineering. It caters to Automobiles, Railways, Aviation, Thermal Power Plants, Hydro Power Plants, Textile, Petroleum, Chemical, and variety of other industries. The branch involves design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems


Expert lectures are regularly arranged by the people of international and national repute. Regular industrial visits are also arranged for the students. The students of the department are also encouraged for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and have brought laurels at the various national level competitions.

The programme covers semester wise study involving lecture and laboratory courses. In whole of M.P., AKS University is the first to start B.Tech. Mining Engineering and M.Tech. Mining Engineering program. The Mining engineers passing Diploma and B. Tech. are finding jobs in various mines in statutory capacities. They also get absorbed in non-statutory jobs in mines and allied segments. With a much updated course structure, we are geared up to extend state-of-the-art teaching together with frequent visits of our students to Coal, Metal and other mines


In the areas of student-faculty-and industry/mines interaction, in all these years several visits by our students to industries and mines. Visits were undertaken to various industries located in and around Satna-Katni region. Besides, our B.Tech. in Mining Engineering students have visited International seminar at Malaysia and Mining Machinery Exhibition and Conference held at Kolkata This group also visited Underground mines of Uranium Corporation of India Ltd. in Jharkhand. Our students have visited the only underground Gold Mine of the country at Hutti in Karnataka and one of the most modern limestone mines of Aditya Birla Group – Rajashree Cement Limestone Mine in Gulbarga District of Karnataka.


Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) had accorded approval to AKS University to conduct Gas Handling examinations and Gas Testing Examinations. In underground Coal Mines, mine gases are a source of accident and have detrimental effect on the health of miners and all officials. Every Diploma and Degree level students, need to pass ‘Gas Testing Examination being conducted by DGMS).
